Washington state lawmakers are finalizing the 2025–2027 operating budget, and right now is a critical time for us to make our voices heard.
PSE is calling on all members to contact their legislators with this message:
✅ No unpaid furloughs or temporary salary cuts. We can’t afford to balance the state budget on the backs of higher education employees who already face rising costs of living. Our work is essential, and we deserve the compensation that was negotiated just a few months ago.
✅ Fully fund K-12 education. School districts across Washington are facing massive budget shortfalls. Without adequate state funding, more districts will be forced into state binding financial conditions or worse — cutting staff, programs, and essential services.
✅ Protect higher education from harmful cuts. Regional universities are lifelines for students and working families from across Washington. Cutting higher ed funding puts programs, jobs, and student futures at risk. We need strong support for all education — pre-K through college.
