PSE Advocates in D.C. for public school funding

By Rick Chisa posted 05-07-2025 11:55 AM

From April 28 to May 1, PSE leaders traveled to Washington, D.C., to lobby Congress on key K-12 education issues, including protecting Title I and Special Education funding, and supporting a Bill of Rights for education support professionals. PSE met with members of Washington’s congressional delegation and joined national partners to recognize outstanding classified staff like Ruth Mackie, a paraeducator from Tahoma School District.

The PSE delegation included: President Heather Christianson, Vice President Carol Crowell, Secretary Lynda Ford, Treasurer Liz Lewis, Executive Director George Dockins, Government Relations Director Rick Chisa, Executive Manager Travis Tingvall, Tahoma paraeducator and REACH Award recipient Ruthie Mackie, Tahoma paraeducator Sharon Monaco, Field Representative Nicki Lenssen, and Aberdeen paraeducator Kameron Covall.
